Well Jim Kalmbach-

I completely agree with your statement that you left me. I appreciate the comment and other than Riley Wolpert I think he is the best baseball player ever to live.

Rethink your opening sentence. What decade has NOT been a decade of living and different trends? And, by definition, trends "catch on" and go "like crazy." Your paper is about the dance marathons, jump into the idea of dancing.

I love the pictures of the hats!

I am curious about the relationship between the women's liberation movement and the changes in women's fashions and hair styles. What specific ideas, beliefs, or events influenced the changes?

I'm also wondering if the women who adopted the "bob" look did their own hairstyling, or if there were beauty salons in those days. If there were, did many women have a beautician take care of their hair back then?

The 1919 World Series scandal is one of the most fascinating parts of baseball history! Great topic! A large portion of your article is about baseball and the World Series in general. Is this really necessary? I think it would be more valuable to use that space to provide more details on the actual scandal, since that is the topic!

I agree with the above comment. Also, don't just throw the poems in at the end of your essay. This is your essay; we want to read your writing voice. I think that incorporating his poetry is a great way to write his biography, but instead, incorporate smaller quotes and explain how that particular line of poetry reflects Hughes' life, beliefs, experiences. Use his poetry to lead us to your conclusion about what kind of man Hughes was.

Very thorough and interesting article. I can see you put a lot of effort into this. I would suggest not including the entire speech, but excerpts of it instead. You can work those excerpts into a paragraph written in your own words.

This one worries me. Your sentences are very complex, almost to the point of obscurity. Are most of your readers actually going to get meaning from "…The implied inferiority or insufficiency of their own authority and ordination under the Lambeth scheme is regarded by the Methodists as an impassable obstacle to the proposed reunion."? Can YOU tell me what it means? What about your citations?

You also have several fragments, most noticeably at the beginning.

There's some debate (not really new) about lowering the drinking age to 18 from 21. What are some teens' thoughts on this idea?
